The game is great had it on my 360 and loved it. However on my mac it lags during cut scenes and occasionally during firefights and the voice audio cuts out as well sometimes. Turning the graphics down helped with texture problems during cut scenes.

everything is all messed up, wait for an update... im gonna see if i can get my money back now....
So I have a lot of games. A LOT. All work with my mouse. This one wont work with the apple or the Logitech wireless or even wired mice. No input what so ever. Forums useless. Saw this on the Xbox and liked it. But on the Mac…. OMG, can I have a mouse fix or my money back? Thanks.
Like everyone else, im on a 2012 macbook pro and when I get to the opening screen all I can see is a black screen with lights. Even the mouse on that screen is incredibly slow. I feel that a full refund should be issued to anyone who bought this game not knowing it was unplayable.
Very long download time, but no problems with the game.
I am running the game with Lion on a MacBook Pro 15" 2.5 i5, 8GB and Nvidia 330. It runs smoothly as long as the graphic settings are low. Do not expect to enjoy a wonderful graphic experience unless you have a really powerful mac. You wont be able to play the game on a MacMini or a MacBook Air. Regarding the game itself, so far I am loving it. The story plot is darker and less linear, you play different phases that already took place in the past. The AI of the enemies has improved and now the seem "smarter" when looking for Sam. A good game despite of the hardware issues. It is clear that Apple computers are not built for gaming.
It worked fine, and I really enjoyed it. Then, something went wrong and it did not respond to any keys. After reinstalling, there were no further issues, and its a great game. It would get a 5 if multiplayer worked and if I had not had to reinstall it.
It took ages to load, and when it finally came up was very choppy. Then i lowered the graphic settings to make it run smoother, when i finally started to play the controls dont work.. he just stood there and nothing would work... I want my money back...
After reading everybodys comment on this game, i was a little bit worried that i would have the same problem. However that was not the case becuase after i finally downloaded it, it worked pretty well. A little bit of lag, but as soon as i lowered the graphics a little, it ran fine but still looked great. The only thing i can say to those who were unsuccssessful with this game is that their computor wasnt very updated or it wasnt powerful enough. Anyways, great game!
I have a 2011 Mac Mini. Top of the line everything, plus i added 4 additional gigs of RAM. This game isnt even listed as playable on my machine. I didnt read it until after i dropped $25 on it. My mini is more powerful than almost every iMac available today…really frustrating that i just wasted all that money.
Dont buy, mouse lag is crazy - called the company said they cant help or anything. Rofl.
I very like this game. Work perfect and looks great!
I use a MacBookPro from 2011 with OSX 10.7.3. Latest OS, with a mid-grade graphics card, and lots of memory. Note, my system is at the bare minimum requirements, and runs the game itself with no problem. The issues Im having are entirely due to this being the first version of the game. I will say this to prospective buyers: This game is worth having, but wait until the bugs are worked out. Watch for the next version, itll be worth every penny once its done right. When the game DOES run, full environment with decent details (I use low settings on video, and have had zero problems with fps rate). Every now and then an extra character (like a guard that youre interrogating) will have no sound when hest speaking, so I use subtitles. HOWEVER, 9 times out of 10, when I start this game, it does a constant fast-scroll through the menus, rendering the game unplayable. Even if you time the click to select "Resume", once youre in the game, it scrolls through your inventory so quickly and constantly that you cannot reload or interact with environment. On the "White Box" infiltration level, I gave up and am currently sitting the game out until an update is released. Im a huge fan of Tom Clancy books, movies, and ESPECIALLY his games. This game has the feel of being great, if only the bugs would be taken care of. Ubisoft, Im well aware of your track record, and the frustration evident in my rating and others should be a wakeup call…this version is painfully subpar, and not because the game itself is bad, but because a mountain of tiny issues drive the gamers up a wall. Please fix this ASAP. I look forward to enjoying my fill of my newest Splinter Cell game when you do finally repair it.
Overall, very close, but no cigar. There are a couple of key faults. For one, Fischer cant move/hide bodies hes taken out. Second, he cant always use his special moves, he has to use one, then the other - really??? Gee, gosh - since I am sure that in real life a soldier wouldnt feel handicapped by this limitation ("Wow...I cant take out that bad guy...I havent used my special move...!") it smacks as phony and limiting. Both faults are pretty obvious and might turn away fans of the franchise. If you love the Splinter Cell games like I do, I would wait until the developers fix these two "bugs." They really take away from the game overall.
Im sure this game would be amazing if it actually worked. i finally navigated through the invisible menu to find an infinite world after the intro. please fix it
Have a iMac that is a less then a year old and it doesnt run this game. We are talking about a old game. The graphics in this game cant exceed those of bioshock 2 etc, all of which run fine oon my machine. I dont get why ubisoft cant get a old game to work correctly on a Mac. It is seriously upsetting. It is also upseting that they dont issue rebates for something that seems to be a problem for many purchasers.
I Purchased this a while back and now it says not compatible with my model of the macbook, is there anyway i can get a refund, it wont even allow me to update the application. I spent basically $25 and it does not even work currently and i doubt it will ever work for my macbook
it still is very buggy but if you randomly click the right side of the screen you might start a game. When you still see anything click escape. go to video settings and play around with that until you can see stuff.
Keep up the ports Ubisoft, I love it. Im on Lion with a 2010 iMac, and it runs great! I love gaming on my mac and will continue to support it.
Even after the update it lags a lot, even on low resolution. Plus theres some small glitches that pop up once in a while. Would like to see these problems fixed, preferably in the near future.
